Downloading custom ICC
Profiles to magicolor printers (Crown Only) from Macintosh OS

| Note:
KONICA MINOLTA does not provide software or instructions to create
new ICC profiles, but does provide the instructions to replace or
add to the resident ICC profiles. |

| Overview |
| Custom ICC profiles can be downloaded
to the hard disk of KONICA MINOLTA magicolor printers (Crown) to be
used as RGB Source, Simulation or Destination. Before downloading
the files to the printer, renaming the profile names to custsim1.icc,
custsim2.icc, and custsim3.icc for Simulation Profiles, custrgb1.icc,
custrgb2.icc, or custrgb3.icc for the RGB Source profiles and custdes1.icc,
or custdes3.icc for Destination profiles allows the user to choose
Custom 1, Custom 2, or Custom 3 as the setting from the PPD. |

| Instructions |
| The
following procedures allow you to download ICC profiles from a Macintosh
Operating System to KONICA MINOLTA printers connected via TCP/IP. |

| NOTE: To download profiles to your printer, the
printer must have a hard disk installed. |
| |
| Mac OS 9 |
This procedure describes using Fetch
to download profiles to the printer's hard drive; although, you can
use any similar FTP Client utility if desired. Instructions for using
Telnet to delete files is also included in
this section. |
| 1. Open Fetch. |
| 2. From the File menu, select New Connection. |
| 3. Enter the IP address of the printer. |
| 4. Set the user to "admin", password
to blank, and directory to "usr." |
| 5. Choose OK. "Invalid
dir command" displays. |
| 6. Choose Put File, browse to the desired profile,
and then choose OK. This step sends the profile to the printer's hard
disk. |
| 7. From the File menu, select Quit to exit the
program. |
| To delete a profile -
(OS 9 using Telnet) |
| 1. Open NCSA Telnet. |
| 2. From the File menu, select Open Connection. |
| 3. Enter the IP address for the printer. |
| 4. For the user name, enter "admin."

| 5. At
the prompt, enter "admin." The /usr directory opens. This
is the directory where the profiles are kept. |
| 6. Type "dir" to see the contents of
the disk. |
| 7. Identify the profile you wish to delete, and
then type "del <profilename>." |
| 8. From the File menu, select Quit to exit the
program. |
| Mac OS X |
| This procedure describes using Terminal
to download ICC profiles to the printer's hard drive. You can also
use Terminal to delete files from the printer's hard disk. |
| 1. Open Terminal. |
| 2. Browse to the folder where the profiles
are located using the "cd" command. |
| 3. Type "ftp <printer IP address>."
Leave the name and password blank. |
| 4. At the prompt, type "cd usr." |
| 5. Type "bin." |
| 6. Type "put <profilename>." |
| 7. From the Terminal menu, select Quit Terminal
to exit the program. |
| To delete a profile -
(OS X using Terminal) |
| 1. Open Terminal. |
| 2. Type "telnet <printer IP address>." |
| 3. At the prompt, type "admin." |
| 4. Type "dir" to see the
contents of the disk. The /usr directory opens. This is the
directory where the profiles are kept. |
| 5. Type "dir" to see the contents of
the disk. |
| 6. Identify the profile you wish to delete, and
type "del <profilename>." |
| 7. From the Terminal menu, select Quit Terminal
