| |
| Overview |
| If the POCE XTension
is loaded when Quark XPress launches, but the POCE system
extensions and control panel are not available in the System, a
warning
message appears: |
| |
 |
| |
| Because the POCE
(Pantone Open Color Environment) system files can cause
problems in Mac
OS 8.x, the QuarkXPress installer or updater does not automatically
install these System files. However, it does install the POCE
XTension
into the QuarkXPress folder. |
| The POCE System
Extensions provide two functions: |
| 1. They add the ability
to choose Pantone colors in the Apple System Picker. |
| 2. They add the ability
to choose CMYK colors in the Apple System Picker. |
| The
POCE XTension just provides a way to access
these functions from within the
QuarkXPress 'Edit Color' dialog box. We recommend
that you simply disable the POCE XTension -- or delete
it altogether -- because QuarkXPress can
already perform those functions without POCE's help. |
However, if you want to use the POCE XTension,
for it to work properly, the
following System Extensions
need to be installed into your System Folder
(they can be found on the QuarkXPress 4.1
CD-ROM disc -> Other Items folder
-> POCE folder):
|
| * PANTONE CMYK Color
Picker |
| * PANTONE Color Picker |
| * Pantone Responder |
| * Pantone Profile |
The
first three go into the System Folder -> Extensions folder, and
the last one
goes in the Control Panels folder. You can simply drop the icons onto
the System folder icon, and the Mac OS will
automatically install them into the
correct locations.
